I’m always looking for new places in Rhode Island to explore and photograph, so when our good friend, Pati, mentioned a covered bridge in Foster, we were sold. As expected, there was no shortage of photos of the historic bridge online, but it was new to us, and so off we went.

Road Trip (for Rhode Islanders)!
Through a good friend I learned about a place called Gooseberry Island in Westport, MA. My first thought was that it would be hours away, a significant distance for a Rhode Islander like me. Not so said the map, and so off we went for a 45-minute trip to this new-to-us location. What we found was an island – connected only by a sliver of road – to mainland Westport. It’s a terrific spot, one that we plan to visit again. Just need to plan something where we catch the sunrise or sunset – and maybe a Snowy Owl or two.
Where the wild things are.
For the dogs and me Brickyard Pond in Barrington is our home away from home.

A Swan and a Squantum Club
This was my first photo taken while wearing my Cousin Eddy hat. You know, the kind of hat with ear flaps and begs the wearer to be beaten senseless. I’m happy to report that I avoided senseless violence, while maintaining the warmest head on the bike path which, by the way, is where you’ll find the Squantum Club – and this swan.
