Whereas last weekend was a cakewalk, this weekend the opponent decided to be – difficult. Below – Eric tries to fight his way for a few more yards. I can’t recall, but it may have been good enough for a first down. The opponent this week was East Providence; the town has two teams in the Junior PeeWee division – the Red and White teams (of East Providence). Eric is on the Red Team, and a buddy of his, Cole, is on the White Team. There will be plenty to talk about in school tomorrow morning, but for the adults going to work the conversation will be about the Patriots’ loss to the Seahawks.

It may have looked peaceful tonight, but Martin and I joked about the background noise, which included planes coming in to land at Green Airport, and Warwick’s finest testing their sirens at the nearby police headquarters. Not a bad night though; we caught a couple Large Mouth Bass and a Crappie from the Scanoe, and the electric outboard worked perfectly. Even so, I’m still looking to catch that elusive five-pound bass.

There’s nothing quite like walking around a corn maze in 90-degree weather.  I hate the heat, especially when it’s supposed to be chilly. Screw you global warming.

I took this shot of my iPad, using my iPhone. The displayed website is apple.com, which is showing a tribute to Steve. I got the news of his passing a few hours ago via a CNN alert, which appeared on the iPad. I guess it was fitting. Very sad.

Time to wake the kids.

Eric was climbing the walls this weekend while celebrating a friend’s 9th birthday party, at a rock climbing gym. Even the dads had a chance to get high during the party.
