Happiness is….
….heading north on Route 4 when beach traffic is heading south. Of course there’s no beach in the city, but there is air-conditioning.
No before… just after and after
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. By that I mean I spent half a day on Wednesday trying to register a canoe and electric motor, and much of that time was spent at the Foundry (home to DEM) in Providence, RI. It took two visits. Anyhow, the building is actually pretty impressive, despite the bureaucracy within. So I came back with a camera – that building OWED me. So take a few brick walls and an HDR application, and you get something for your troubles. Both photos were compiled in Photomatix. I went with two flavors this time:
Laser Light Show
A 30-second exposure gives this passing patrol boat the warp factor 10 look. The No Wake sign prevents such things from happening.
Night Light
This was shot from the backyard of the beach house using a 30-second long exposure. I was hoping for a passing boat in those 30 seconds, which would have created an interesting laser beam effect.
Backyard Light Show

Rainy Day Space Battle
What does a father-and-son team do on a rainy day? Why play with new software on the Mac, of course. In this case, it’s Pixelmator, which is a lot like Photoshop, only a lot easier to use. So below is the result of our first “project” together. It was Eric’s idea to add the image of Mars, which I have to admit adds a dramatic flair. The Lego spaceships were built by Eric and me.

All Good Things…
Christy contemplates the end of a three-day Memorial Day weekend tonight at Brickyard Pond in Barrington. Meantime, Eric and Nigel wade in the water.
Why does SHE get one? Not fair.
So we broke down last weekend and got Donna an iPhone4 (in white), which beats my old iPhone3GS – hands down. The photo below, taken of a REAL camera, was shot using her phone. Nice quality. Rats. And it shoots video in high def. Double rats.
