The kids have been good (they’re always good), so I picked up Mario Kart during lunch yesterday. They were ecstatic. It’s early morning Saturday, and I expect them to come down any second for their steering wheels.
Go back…go back. Gotta get this one.
I like this shot. The lighting seems to be perfect. A very lucky shot. I’m sure I couldn’t do it again if my life depended on it. Sigh.
We were on our way back from Fort Weatherill when we passed this scene, so we had to pull a Uey (U-turn) and come back around for the shot. The kids just groaned. Why should they have to suffer through dad’s hobby. “Zip it, kids, and go back to your Nintendo DS’s.” 🙂
Bone, bone? Who’s got the bone?
Go ahead and jump!
Too Good to Eat

It was another fantastic Fourth of July Party at the Vermettes this year. Lots of food, and something new this year – a game called LadderBall. We have to get a set. The second annual Diving Contest was also a complete success.
They say it’s my birthday….
“Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to meeeeeeee. Happy Birthday to me.”
My mum used to sing this to me over the phone every year on June 26th. Donna and the kids are at the beach house; I’ll have to wait until tomorrow for my gifts. Too tired to drive down tonight.
Messing with shutter speeds
I took this shot a couple weekends ago with a slower shutter speed – half a second. The idea was to get the moving water to blur slightly, while keeping all else in sharp focus. It seemed to work, thanks to a tripod. It came out okay, not great, just okay. The location was Hunt’s Mill in East Providence, RI.
Happy Father’s Day!
Debut post using Blogger
This is my first blog post using Google’s Blogger. If all goes well, I may be leaving WordPress behind. So all the stuff posted below this was PAINSTAKINGLY copied and pasted from WordPress. I have a long way to go.
A real tear jerker…
I just saw for the first time my Sweet Pea teary eyed during a sad scene in a movie. Luckily this one has a happy ending. I asked Christy, age 7, the name of the movie, and it’s called Felicity.
