We went to New York City last Saturday, a day trip. Eric and I were armed with our new Fujifilm x100v cameras. Between he and I we shot hundreds of photos. Of all those shots, this is one of my favorites. He took it, of course. 🙂
Eric and I took our new cameras – Fujifilmx100v – for a walk in Providence last night. These were more like test shots, because there’s still a lot to learn about these cameras. All in good time.
Yesterday Martin and I went surfcasting at Narragansett Pier Beach; it was the first time in decades. We had a great time, but caught no fish. I went fishing again the next day, in EP, and my luck improved, but just a little.
If you count the rings you can estimate its age. Gotta be at least 50 years old.
The smell of the ocean is unmistakable and so, too, is the sound of stones rattling their way back after each wave. I’d like to capture that sound, one of these evenings, and have it ready for the nights when sleep doesn’t come easy.
I think of all the photos that I’ve taken this summer – so far – this shot is my favorite. I think it finally tells a story, sort of. The couple with the umbrella appear “inconvenienced” by the effects of Tropical Storm Elsa, while the young surfer couldn’t be more excited. I guess it’s all in your perspective.
One of the worst long weekends, weather wise, in a very long time. But it’s not about the weather today, it’s about the fallen. We will never forget.
Donna and I returned to the ‘scene of the crime’ hoping to see the Wood Duck once more, but this time I came armed with a 200-600mm lens. Glad to have the extra reach, because this is one of the most shy birds we’ve come across.
