The goal was to find a leaf that’s a bit more upright than the rest. Then, getting low with the camera, keeping the leaf in focus, and shooting skyward. My new Sony 24-70GMII does much of the work. The hardest part is getting myself up off the ground again.

We loved them, actually. We tried a different orchard this fall – Barden Family Orchard was the pick this year, and they didn’t disappoint.

Well past their prime these aging leaves still manage to hold on, just days after a good dumping of snow. The Hunt River behind them gives this photo a little extra bling.
