Christmas at Pomham Light.

Glenn and Pati joined us on a self-imposed photography assignment: getting a shot of Pomham Light during the holidays. It required a walk along the bike path for the best vantage point. Once there, a space between the trees, my assistants added extra holiday bling to the fence.

Fall at Colt State Park

The goal was to find a leaf that’s a bit more upright than the rest. Then, getting low with the camera, keeping the leaf in focus, and shooting skyward. My new Sony 24-70GMII does much of the work. The hardest part is getting myself up off the ground again.

More from the Block

A black and white shot of a very old tractor in the middle of an even older field. The air plane shot was taken at a tiny airport on the island. It was more like an airfield with a few small structures. But it had character – and it served breakfast.

It’s all in your perspective.

I think of all the photos that I’ve taken this summer – so far – this shot is my favorite. I think it finally tells a story, sort of. The couple with the umbrella appear “inconvenienced” by the effects of Tropical Storm Elsa, while the young surfer couldn’t be more excited. I guess it’s all in your perspective.
