No before… just after and after

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. By that I mean I spent half a day on Wednesday trying to register a canoe and electric motor, and much of that time was spent at the Foundry (home to DEM) in Providence, RI. It took two visits. Anyhow, the building is actually pretty impressive, despite the bureaucracy within. So I came back with a camera – that building OWED me. So take a few brick walls and an HDR application, and you get something for your troubles. Both photos were compiled in Photomatix. I went with two flavors this time:

Father knows best…

Martin and I took dad out fishing yesterday on Worden’s Pond. Eric joined us, despite the 5:30AM wake-up call. Dad caught the first fish of the day after insisting that we consider changing to a different color lure. Apparently he was right. He caught this Perch using a white lure, rather than the chartreuse Martin and I were using. Father knows best. As for Eric, he just wanted to go home, or eat pancakes, or pee, or something that did not involve being on the water on an uncharacteristically chilly June morning.

“Punch Buggy (enter color here)!!”

So this one is the latest thing we do. Apparently the kids have learned about something called the “Punch Buggy” game.  Allow me to explain: when one of the little rodents sees a Volkswagen Beetle, they punch us while exclaiming “Punch Buggy (enter color here)!!” This has since been expanded to “Punch Buggy (enter color here) – No punch backs!!” It’s a wonder we haven’t been in an accident yet. Sigh.

This week in sports….

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup on Wednesday. Just thought I’d mention that. Big parade in Boston today. And Thursday night we were off to the kids’ first PawSox game. We made it all the way to the 5th inning (9pm). I went for the hot dogs. The kids went for the giant foam fingers. Donna went to watch me eat hot dogs and to buy the kids giant foam fingers.
