The competitive soccer season ended yesterday, after a long and “heart-pounding” season. We were honored and proud to see Christy “selected” for the team, and the only thing she loved more than playing was making new friends. An awesome coach, assistant coach, and team mom made for an awesome season. We can’t wait to do it again. Christy scored two goals yesterday, making it an extra special way to end the season. The photo below was taken after last weekend’s tournament.

Rainy Day Space Battle
What does a father-and-son team do on a rainy day? Why play with new software on the Mac, of course. In this case, it’s Pixelmator, which is a lot like Photoshop, only a lot easier to use. So below is the result of our first “project” together. It was Eric’s idea to add the image of Mars, which I have to admit adds a dramatic flair. The Lego spaceships were built by Eric and me.

Soccer Tournament
Yesterday was the soccer tournament for Team Dunk’n. We played in Coventry, and while the game results weren’t the greatest, at least we got to see some of the prettier parts of the state – rivers, lakes, and pine trees all around. But I digress; first game was a tie, and the second…? I can’t remember (selective memory I guess). Christy and I have some more practicing to do. Above all, she had fun with her friends. And that’s why we do it.

The New Canoe Review
Eric paddles our new canoe on Brickyard Pond yesterday. We brought our fishing rods, but apparently the fish were not cooperating. Stupid fish (or smart fish depending on how you look at it). Anyhow, the new canoe, called a Scanoe, receives two thumbs up. Who knew? Next add-on will be an electric trolling motor.
