….an angel gets its wings. At our house it also means that Nigel has to go outside and pee. I got this idea from my parents who, back in the 70’s, “bell trained” Alfie – our Afgan Hound.

Happy Birthday Eric and Christy!!!
Stealth Shopping
Donna and I just went Christmas shopping; the kids are with Barbara. We picked up bikes for them, which are now hidden in the office downstairs. Diamond Back Mountain Bikes. Nice. I can’t wait for Christmas morning.
Last night we told them we were taking them furniture shopping, or was it a visit to the fabric store. Anyhow, our true destination was Laser Tag in Fall River. It was definitely different, but the kids loved it. I think Glenn loved it more than anyone.
The day before was Thanksgiving. The food was great, except for one little mishap that made us all laugh out loud. I think it was referred to as spaghetti squash. Yikes. Bailey had us in hysterics. That’s all I’ll say about that. We also got a demo of the PS3 and BlueRay. Cool stuff. I think we watched “Monsters vs. Aliens.”
Weekend with the kids…

Okay – so every weekend is with the kids, but this weekend was just the three of us. It’s an annual thing, when mom goes shopping in NH with Aunty Kerri. We kicked it off with breakfast at Farnsworth’s. Saturday night we watched “Race to Witch Mountain,” which ultimately led to Eric sleeping in my bed that night (scary monster at the end, etc). A new DS game for Christy and a Wii game for Eric were other highlights, not to mention walks at Osamaquin Park and Brickyard Pond (where there’s always a flower to smell). These are the days to remember.
Back to abnormal…
The kids are jumping around again, driving me absolutely nuts. Life is good.
Swine Flu? H1N1?
This year the Swine Flu took on the new name of H1N1. I had heard of Swine Flu before, but it was never in the news for long. This year is different, and now H1N1 is ALL OVER the news. And it’s especially scary now that it’s prevalent in RI, and both Eric and Christy are running fevers. As I write this, I’m sitting in Eric’s room while he tries to get some sleep. Christy is doing the same in her room. Mom is downstairs now, taking a break from being the primary caregiver. I’m a little tired myself; I was up with Christy this morning at about 4am. The coughing was too much for any of us to take, so we figured we might as well head downstairs. It’s now about 5pm, and we’re hoping they’re both down for the night now. It’s been scary going, but after calling their friends’ parents (we had to cancel their party today), we learned that nearly ALL of their classmates have gone through the same thing. So apparently we’re not alone in getting a good scare. I’ll be glad when this is over.
Trick or Treating at the Terrace
There was a change of plans for Halloween this year. We were off to the Terrace for a Halloween parade and fundraiser for Ethan. It was a huge turn out, and boy do these people take Halloween seriously. It was a blast. I think we’re going back next year. Click here for more photos.
